This was our first ever destination wedding in the beautiful Lublin country side near Warsaw. As it turns out Polish weddings are pretty similar to our own, what with the church ceremony and then on to a venue to celebrate. What is different is the full on celebratory vibe to the whole day. There are so many different elements, ceremonial bread giving from the bride and grooms parents, smashing of glasses, present giving, lantern lighting, games and of course copious amounts of food and vodka. The food kept coming all day and night, people were still tucking into sausages at 2am. And to wash it all down, 85 litres of vodka!
