In a New York Minute

It was around this time last year that after whirlwind 12 year courtship, myself and Finlay got round to tying the knot. Not only was it quite a surprise to us (after years of happily living in sin we had never really thought to make it official), it was a pretty big surprise to all of our friends and most of our family who knew nothing about it.

Luckily everyone was lovely about it and even threw a surprise of their own - a huge meal out with all of our nearest-and-dearest. A great night and a fantastic way to celebrate our marriage.

If you are thinking of eloping yourself I can recommend doing it New York style. Jet off, get a license, buy everything the day before and get yourself down to City Hall. OK, I'll concede that finding the perfect wedding ring in one day can get a little stressful... but what a story.
